busterblog - BREAKING: Ajax Secure Future of 16-Year-Old Sensation Abdellah Ouazane and Brother Zakaria Amidst European Interest

In a major win for Dutch football, Ajax Amsterdam have officially reached an agreement to extend the contracts of 16-year-old Moroccan prodigy Abdellah Ouazane and his elder brother Zakaria Ouazane, fending off intense interest from several top clubs across Europe.

Sources close to the club confirm that the new deal was finalized after weeks of negotiations, with Ajax determined to lock down the highly-rated siblings who have both shown immense promise in the club’s youth system. Abdellah, often described by scouts as a generational midfield talent, has been monitored closely by Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, all of whom made informal approaches earlier this summer.

However, Ajax’s structured development pathway, combined with assurances of first-team opportunities and family stability, convinced the Ouazanes to stay.

> “We believe in Ajax’s vision and how they develop young players into global stars. This is the best place for Abdellah to grow,” a family representative reportedly told Dutch media on Friday.

Abdellah, who is already turning heads in the U17 Eredivisie league with his technical brilliance, vision, and composure beyond his age, is expected to join Ajax’s senior team training sessions later this year. His older brother Zakaria, also a midfielder, has played a pivotal mentoring role and will now continue his career with Jong Ajax, Ajax's reserve team.

This move underscores Ajax’s ongoing strategy of investing in and retaining elite young talent, especially from multicultural backgrounds. With Morocco's international football profile rising after the 2022 World Cup semi-final run, the club is now keen on deepening its connections to North African talent.

Ajax academy director Klaas-Jan Huntelaar expressed excitement over the development, noting that “keeping the Ouazane brothers in Amsterdam is a statement of intent,” as the club looks to return to European prominence through its famed youth academy.

For now, fans can look forward to seeing Abdellah Ouazane’s rapid rise, with comparisons already being made to former Ajax and Moroccan greats like Hakim Ziyech and Frenkie de Jong. With the ink now dry on their contracts, all eyes will be on the young star to see if he can live up to the hype—and if Ajax can once again turn youth into legacy.
