“She Wanted My Life and My Properties”: IVD Breaks Silence with Explosive Claims About Late Wife Bimbo’s Death

busterblog - “She Wanted My Life and My Properties”: IVD Breaks Silence with Explosive Claims About Late Wife Bimbo’s Death

In a shocking and emotionally charged series of statements, embattled businessman Ikechukwu Darry Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has taken to social media to set the record straight on the death of his wife, Bimbo, and the controversy that has followed him ever since. Claiming his truth has been buried under a mountain of paid narratives, twisted blog posts, and public judgment, the auto dealer has now come forward with what he describes as “evidence” and “divine vindication.”

IVD, who resides in Megamund Estate, Ikota, Lagos, where he says “there is no fence and all neighbors saw what happened,” insists he never laid a hand on his wife and that contrary to popular belief, he tried to save her. “She committed suicide and wanted to take me along,” he said in a post laced with bitterness and pain. “I still helped her, took her to different hospitals... it’s online, people can Google and see me looking like a madman.”

Once seen as the epitome of a power couple on social media, IVD and Bimbo’s marriage came under public scrutiny after her tragic death in 2022. What was first believed to be a case of domestic violence and marital breakdown spiraled into a media frenzy with accusations flying in every direction. While many saw Bimbo as a victim, IVD now says he was the one set up, lied against, and stripped of his peace.

“All planned. The narrative was all planned,” he wrote passionately in a new post on his verified Instagram account. “Bloggers were paid to tarnish me. I have the receipts, chats, and conversations. God said I will fight your battles... now the truth is coming out.”

According to IVD, his late wife had “anger issues” that were known even within her family. “She is a big problem. Everyone knows. Even the family knows. It’s inbuilt,” he said while referring to allegations that he was cheating during their marriage. “Cheating wasn’t the issue,” he added, shutting down claims that infidelity caused their union to crumble. “She wanted to take all my properties. Go back online, she kept saying ‘pound of flesh.’”

In one of his most revealing moments, IVD accused a woman based in Abuja of being part of the smear campaign against him. “My prayer is that Abuja woman no come out to confess wetin she do me and my children, God go show up,” he warned. He accused her of paying bloggers to create a one-sided story that portrayed him as a monster, even though, he claims, she wasn’t present at the time of the incident or even called to ask what had happened.

The businessman’s recent post signals a turning point in his emotional state. From confusion and grief to now a more composed tone, IVD shared that he is finally healing and even found new love. “I promised myself never to fall in love again, but boo, you came into my life and made everything so easy,” he wrote, gushing about a new woman he credits for restoring his sanity. “Boo boo, you do this one. God bless you. Where I keep you, I will never ever drop you.”

But not everyone is buying his redemption arc. A commenter, @dato_sharon_cross, responded critically, saying, “If you had treated her well, she wouldn't have turned into whatever you think she is… suddenly you have found someone you can’t cheat on. God knows how to pay everyone according to their sowing.” In a sharp rebuttal, IVD insisted, “I never cheated. Cheating wasn’t the issue. She wanted to take all my properties.”

IVD’s remarks appear to target not just his late wife’s memory but also family members and others who he believes were complicit in spreading falsehoods. He says his battle was more spiritual than physical and that “God has exposed all” those who tried to ruin him. “Now my name is Ikechukwu Darry Ogbonna,” he declared, as though reintroducing himself to the public. “The time is now. Guys, I’m happy again.”

While his posts have stirred new debate, they also open up fresh wounds around a case that many thought had gone cold. For the longest time, Bimbo’s voice had dominated the court of public opinion. Videos of her sobbing, yelling, and pleading during past incidents formed the heart of the domestic abuse narrative. But IVD’s refusal to stay silent any longer has added a complex layer to the tragedy — one that seems to challenge the idea that every victim is completely innocent and every accused completely guilty.

His message is blunt, unapologetic, and raw. “It will never be well with you for the pain you put me through and the properties you people moved,” he wrote, presumably addressing Bimbo’s relatives or allies. He believes justice — spiritual or otherwise — is on the horizon. “God go show himself. The time is now.”

What happens next is unclear. Will authorities reopen investigations based on the claims of false narratives and paid defamation? Will those accused of spreading misinformation be brought to book? Or will this simply become another case in Nigeria’s endless list of domestic tragedies that fades into public forgetfulness?

One thing is sure: IVD isn’t staying quiet anymore. With screenshots, documents, and a heart full of bitterness and alleged betrayal, he appears ready to rewrite the story that has haunted him for years. Whether the public will listen—or believe—is another matter entirely. But in his mind, the battle is already won.

“God refused me to see 100,” he said cryptically in one of his earlier posts. “I saw 99. But God has exposed all.”

And with that, IVD is not just telling his side — he’s reclaiming it.
